Kendall’s practice focuses on family law and criminal defense. Kendall also enjoys representing clients or working with outside counsel on all aspects of civil and criminal appellate advocacy – legal research, brief writing and oral argument. Ms. Sykes’ background is in family law, appellate advocacy, and criminal defense matters. Kendall previously consulted as a member of the legal team for the adoptive parents in the “Save Baby Veronica” case, involving the Indian Child Welfare Act, in the successful appeal to the United States Supreme Court. Ms. Sykes served as legal counsel for the adoptive parents in the “Bring Sonya Home” case out of Tennessee for which she appeared with her clients on the nationally televised program, “The View.” Ms. Sykes received her juris doctorate in 2007 from the Oklahoma City University School of Law, where she graduated with honors. She is an active member of the Oklahoma Bar Association and the Oklahoma County Bar Association and a 2018 graduate of the Oklahoma Bar Association Leadership Academy. Kendall is a current and founding board member of the Oklahoma Guardian Ad Litem Institute, which is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing legal representation to at-risk children involved in domestic court proceedings. Ms. Sykes is licensed to practice in all Oklahoma state courts and in the Western District of Oklahoma and the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals.  In her free time, Kendall enjoys spending time with her family and her beloved toy poodle, Mary.
